In this tutorial, I show you how to create a Data Model from an existing excel data set, and then how to pull data from the data model to build pivot charts and tables.
The result is a graph and a table that can be easily updated interactively by simply clicking on the slicer buttons.
The example uses a data set containing production profiles (dummy data) for 200 gas wells (Type Curves).
However, the workflow can be applied to any other data set. Consider this a time series (20 years long, 1 value per year) for 200 entities.
→ For a better viewing experience, please watch on a large screen rather than on a mobile display. Unfortunately, the video resolution didn’t come out great, but it does not prevent understanding the workflow shown. My apologies.
👉 Get the Excel file: download
→ It’ll open a GDrive window with the zip file. Download and unzip it.
→ You must have the file saved locally to access its full functionality
<aside> ⚠️ Mac Users: ActiveX (scroll bars) is a technology that is not supported on the Mac operating system. This is a Mac compatibility issue, not an issue with Excel itself, so I'm afraid I can't do anything on my end.
